Job description

Liverpool Ganesh Temple is looking for religious worker, who comes from traditional South Indian / Sri Lankan Preistly order. The candidate must have undergone training under reputable Saiva Hindu Organisation. 

The Role:

Religious worker shall perform spiritual functions associated with Hindu beliefs and practices. Provide motivation and guidance for the members of the Hindu community.

The candidate must have undergone training under reputable Saiva  Hindu Organisation.

The candidate must have worked as a Hindu Priest in a Hindu temple.

We also desire to work with someone who has great communication skills; experience of working in international communities will be added advantage.

Other useful skills include computer knowledge. 

The responsibilities include:

1. Conducting Hindu Temple rituals such as Abishekam and Homam, 

2. Officiating Weddings, religious ceremonies and special prayers for Family events.

2. Assisting other priest leading Hindu Pooja and prayers regularly in and out of the premises.

3. Proven experience in making flower garland, decorating the deities and preparing Holy foods for rituals offerings.

4. Overseeing the care and maintenance of the temple sanctum and temple hall.

5. Offering counselling and welfare support to the faith members.

6. Supporting the temple projects.

7. Performing any other role that may be assigned by the Senior Priests and the Administration.

8. The religious worker may nedd to attend houses in and around Liverpool for officiating in family religious events.

Liverpool Ganesh Temple is looking to recruit 1 Nadaswaram artist who must have relevant experience to perform at the temple for religious services, ceremonies and rituals. They include rituals during daily deity worship, (i.e.) Archana, Homam and Aarthi, special deity celebrations, Special ceremonies like chariot festivals, Skanda shasti, navarathri, diwali, annual festivals, weddings, Valaikaappu, Poonul Sadangu and special festival throughout the year. These are to be performed at Liverpool Ganesh Temple. The religious worker may need to attend other religious sites and houses in and around Liverpool to conduct ceremonies as per the requirements.

We are a Hindu Charity operating in Liverpool and are looking to hire an Garland maker for Liverpool Ganesh temple. Applicants must be well versed in the making of garlands based on Hindu Saiva tradition and be able to perform the following duties:

  1.  Proven experience in making flower garland for the deities.
  2. Make garlands for deities during special occasions like annual festivals, Diwali, Vinayagar Chathurthi etc.
  3. Make garlands for deities for daily worship.
  4. Make special garlands for Weddings, religious ceremonies and special prayers for Family events.
